Very disappointed. We were expecting a beautiful well-maintained property and that was not what we found. We stayed in the Honeymoon Cabin Suite. When we went to the main lodge to check in the lady that we spoke with never introduced herself and complained about how hectic her day was. We had to ask where the cabin was because she did not offer to tell us. The condition and cleanliness of the cabin was pitiful. As you went up the stone stairs into the cabin there were dead flowers beside the walkway and weeds growing on the stairs. We got to the entry door and there was bird poop all over the railings. When we went out on the deck, we found a dead bird (that had been there a while in one of the chairs on the deck). The table on the deck had not been cleaned in a while as there was dried bird poop on it. There was dried bird poop on the chair cushions on the deck. There were boring bees everywhere. Thank goodness were knew what they were and not to be scared of them. There were numerous places where the boring bees had bored holes, they had been filled in with foam but when the foam dried the excess had not been cut off. The deck railing was rotting and the paint on the deck floor was peeling off. There was lichen growing on the deck railing. The gas grill had not been cleaned after someone else had used it. They had whiskey barrels that were cut in half for flowers. There were old, dried weeds in them. The inside was no better. There was mold in the shower where the walls meet the floor. While I was taking a shower, I thought I was going to have to start swimming as slow as it drained. The wall between the vanities was dusty and dirty. When you hung anything on the towel hanger/ robe rack the hook would turn upside down and whatever you put on it fell in the floor. In the den area, there were 100's of dead bugs in the globe for the ceiling fan light and the fan paddles had visible dust. There were spider webs on the ceiling above the fireplace. We met the owner twice; never did she introduce herself. All I can say is don't believe what you see and read on the internet. The pictures looked very nice and most of the reviews were excellent. The only thing good about our stay was the breakfasts and seeing the Highland Cows. Oh, and the mattress was comfortable. Needless to say, we will not be repeat customers.
